Interests & Activities

Highlands has a range of activities which are advertised monthly with information about content, location, time, date and any costs involved.

Most of the onsite activities are free of charge and have a great attendance rate.

As there are many preferences, there are many choices. Many activities have regular groups and times and new members are always welcome.

There are movies to be watched, pool/snooker to be played, books to be read, walks to be taken, aqua aerobics to splash along with, housie to be won, pictures to be painted, songs to be sung, bowls or petanque to be played, speakers to be listened to, tea and coffee to be enjoyed and friends to catch up with.

There is something for everyone and no pressure to join, if you would rather potter in your garden or read the paper in your deck chair that is up to you.

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (hereafter referred to as The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who buy into a retirement village. If you intend to purchase you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Further information about Retirement Villages is available in the section 'Frequent Questions'. Some Retirement Villages are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please do your homework.

In some villages there may be some units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
