DetailsSingle room accommodation with communal bathrooms and toilets. Rooms have built in furniture with room for a television and arm chair. Other personal effects such as photographs and ornaments are welcome. There are two wings and each contains its own resident lounge to entertain guests as well as a kitchenette and resident laundry.

What rental covers Meals, weekly laundered linen, room clean, power and access to resident laundry.
Eligibility Criteria Must be able to maintain daily independence but would like to live somewhere safe and secure and enjoy the company of others. A Doctors Certificate must be produced.
Garden Maintenance We employ the services of a gardener to maintain our grounds and gardens, residents maintain smaller plots around the grounds such as the courtyard.

Other Personnel Yes Our staff are trained caregivers in the elderly care sector. All staff have current first aid certificates.
Home Help (External Provider) Yes Disability Support Link will generally assess our residents on recommendation from our staff and send support agencies to assist our residents who need assistance with their personal cares.
Home Help (Internal Provider) Yes Our staff clean the residents rooms weekly which includes laundered linen. Residents can choose to do their own housekeeping.
Meals - Internal Provider Yes All our meals are cooked fresh in our very own kitchen. Breakfast is served in bed. All other meals are held in our dining room.
Dietitian No Special dietary needs are catered for on recommendation from residents GP's
Podiatrist Yes Our podiarist Tracey DeThierry visits our residents fornightly. (There is a small charge for this service.)
Hairdresser 6 Yes Lynley Dixon visits our residents on Tuesdays and Thursdays. (There is a small charge for this service)
Diversional Therapist 40 Yes Erin Lyford is a fully qualified Diversional Therapist and has worked with our residents for over 15 years.
Own Social Worker Yes The RSA Welfare Officer makes regualar visits to our Veterans. We are able to assist residents with contacting other welfare agencies when needed.

Social/Recreational Programme Yes Erin has a varied outings and activities programme, which aims at giving our residents a sense of purpose,and raising their self-esteem and awareness.
Emergency Call System Yes Emergency call bells are installed in all bedrooms, toilets,showers and bathrooms.
Outings Yes Erin regularly takes residents for outings to a variety of places and activities. Freeman Court has its own van for such purpose.
Transport Available Yes Van available for residents excursions. The Te Awamutu Community Health Transport Trust provides residents of Te Awamutu and the surrounding area with transport to and from medical appointments in Hamilton. Service operates: Monday to Friday
Craft Room Yes Freeman Court has a craft room with its own kitchenette. There are also other resources avaliable for a variety of hobbies and interests such as sewing, pickling, cooking.
Library Yes Freeman Court has library books delivered from the Te Awamutu Library.
Chapel Yes Freeman Court has weekly inter-denominational devotions held every Wednesday at 5.30pm.
Lounges Yes We have a large communal lounge, plus both wings of our home have their own lounge areas with televisions.
Gardens Yes Our residents take pride in their own courtyard garden. During warmer months some of the residents can be found relaxing in the sunshine in their courtyard under the market umbrellas or tending their own garden plots.
Sprinklers Yes Sprinklers and smoke detectors are installed throughout facility.
Other details Yes Our dining room is open to families and friends of residents if you wish to call in and enjoy a meal. Lunch is served at 12pm and consists of a cooked meal with desert and tea/coffee. The cost is $9.00 per person.

Special Features
Freeman Court is a unique residental provider, as it fosters independence for the elderly. It is a boarding home for those that no longer wish to live alone but do not require the services of a rest home. At Freeman Court we have a dedicated team of staff that believe that the residents welfare and needs come first and that independence is encouraged. Our team provide the residents with a safe and secure environment that help them enjoy their well earnt retirement years.

Public Transport   Te Awamutu has a daily bus service to Hamilton with a varied timetable. The bus depot is located at the Information Centre on Gorst Avenue. There is a local taxi service to assist you into town for shopping or Doctors visits.
Shops   As with any rural town, Te Awamutu has most shops and services. All these are within walking distance. The town centre is Alexander Street.
Parks   Te Awamutu is the rose capital of New Zealand and this is evident in the towns rose garden that is located opposite the Information Centre on Gorst Avenue.
