Around October last year one of our local schools (Ohoka) came to visit. They came as part of their curriculum, something about engaging in their local community. The students were wonderful, polite and respectful to our residents. They asked them lots of questions about their lives and what things interested them. They then went away back to their school and made gifts for the residents that they had talked to. Just before Christmas they called in again and gave the residents their gifts. The things they had made where just awesome and the residents really loved it. As a consequence of their kindness we presented them with a cheque on behalf of our residents. We donated the money to them to spend on sports equipment. You would have thought we had given them the world, they were so grateful.
It was such a win win situation that really we all really loved.
