Spotlight: Knitting for a good cause

The four strong group of Parahaki Court Rest Home’s knitting group visited the maternity ward at Whangarei Hospital armed with 12 teddy bears, 12 blankets and 20 sets of cardigans, beanies and booties.

The women get together every second Tuesday for around 90 minutes. After initially starting the group to enjoy knitting, it was decided to donate their finished items to the hospital.

The group are calling for donations of wool. If you are wanting to help this great group, people can drop it off at Parahaki Court Rest Home, or ring the home and leave a message for Patsy and she would arrange to have it picked up.
