From Friday 23 July, people in Group 3 can call the COVID Vaccination Healthline on 0800 28 29 26 to book their vaccination if they don’t already have an appointment.
This is a free call and allows anyone, regardless of their ability to access or use the internet, to book their vaccine. The phone booking service is open from 8am – 8pm every day and there are translators available.
Don’t worry if you don’t book straight away either; you won’t miss out on getting a vaccine.
What to expect when calling 0800 28 29 26
Booking your vaccination over the phone will take around 15 minutes. When you call, it’s a good idea to have your NHI (National Health Index) number ready to make the booking process quicker. But don’t fret; if you don’t have your NHI number you can still call.
If the 0800 line is busy when you call, please be patient. You might need to wait to talk to one of our operators and you’ll be told an estimate of how long you need to wait. You can choose to call back at a more convenient time if you prefer.
Who is in Group 3?
Those in Group 3 are at greater risk of getting sick from contracting Covid-19. This includes people:
- aged 65 or over.
- with a relevant underlying health condition.
- who are disabled or caring for a person with a disability.
- who are pregnant (any trimester).
Anyone in Group 2 also call 0800 28 29 26 if they haven’t yet booked a vaccination appointment.
