CEA’s top tips series: Spring Cleaning

As the weather begins to warm up again, it’s a good time to think about some spring cleaning.

Do you have mould on your curtains? Mix together 2-3 drops of oil of cloves spray with half a litre of water, and spray onto the affected area. Leave overnight, then take curtains outside and shake off the mould.

Cleaning mould off windowsills and walls with bleach does not remove the mould, it simply turns it white. Try an effective natural solution of 70% white vinegar and 30% hot water. Just spray it on, leave for one minute, and wipe off.

Make sure you vacuum your home at least once a week, especially if you have a woodburner, as fires emit dust and debris into the air that you can’t see.

Don’t forget to ventilate your home for ten minutes during the warmest part of the day!
