CEA’s energy saving tip: This week we are talking about Insulation.

Did you know there are between 30,000 – 50,000 homes in Canterbury that are either not insulated or under-insulated?

If your insulation was installed before 2000, CEA’s energy advisers recommend you get it checked, as old insulation may have compacted. And before 2000, thinner layers of insulation were installed than is currently recommended for the South Island. Research shows that good insulation will keep your home warmer and help save money on heating, as well as benefiting the health of your family.

CEA’s assessors are happy to come out to your area to carry out a free, no-obligation assessment of your insulation. You or your landlord may even qualify for free or subsidised insulation. Conditions apply. Please don’t wait until winter though, as insulation assessors and installers get very busy over winter.
