The Guilty Wife
This was actually a pretty good read. I thought the storyline was possible, but not probable and the concept, whilst I’m sure not unique, hasn’t crossed my reading list before.
Basically, Bethany, our protagonist, is married, but having an affair. The bloke she’s having the affair with is murdered… and whilst she is filled with grief no one can ever know, or she’ll ruin her perfect life. But then (as of course you’d already guessed) someone seems to know and starts sending her terrifying messages.
So, it’s a good storyline, right? And for the first half of the novel I was hooked, but then for some reason it seemed to lose me – I’m not sure if I actually lost interest on who (and why) someone was blackmailing her, or the writing started letting the story down.
Either way, but the time I got to the killer twist…I just didn’t care.
This is probably a pretty good read, and I’ve seen other reviews where readers rate it highly, but for some reason it just didn’t hit the spot for me
