Description
Hello and welcome to MoaTours New Zealand!

MoaTours small group escapes are designed especially for mature travellers who want to explore our beautiful regions, enjoy special annual events and gardens and get to know the locals over relaxed lunches in their homes.

The difference between MoaTours and other small group tours is the all inclusive costs. From the moment you step on board our coach (maximum 18 travellers) everything is taken care of by our knowledgeable and helpful Kiwi guide. All meals, sightseeing, entrance fees and activities are included in your tour cost. All South Island tours include return Auckland/Auckland airfares.

Our leisurely paced itineraries are four to seven days in length and cover the country from Cape Reinga in the North to Stewart Island in the South. Each tour focuses on just one or two regions so you will have time to enjoy their special attractions and discover those off the beaten track places.

And you’ll end each day in quality, en suite accommodation with a great “sense of place”.

We’re a family owned business and we’ve been running unforgettable small group tours of New Zealand for over 40 years. It’s our mission to make travelling around our beautiful country the best travelling experience you’ve ever had. It’s what we live for.

Ann & Jack Patrick - World of WearableArt Awards Show tour.
WOW was exceptional and the seats were great seats too. Meals in the various lovely homes were really nice as were the tours of the gardens. Paul was very attentive, funny, interacted with everyone and we all laughed our socks off all the way to and from Auckland. I have already recommended this tour to friends and have booked our next holiday with Moa to the Art Deco weekend and bringing a friend too!

Margaret Crotty - Hawke's Bay Art Deco tour.
Hearty congratulations for the fluid way the trip was run and our marvellous driver. It was my first tour and I am hooked as to the joy of it all, for you made it seem seamlessly easy. Thank you for a superb vacation to the wonderful Art Deco festival in Napier.

Alistair & Bevlyn Bibby - Canterbury Spring Gardens tour.
We were very happy with the access to the rural gardens provided as that was our main interest and the lovely accomodation and meals were a bonus. Andre our tour guide with his caring and pleasant manner and experience made the tour effortless for us. We appreciated his knowledgeable commentary and he showed genuine concern for looking after us. We particularly enjoyed the farmhouse lunches.

Cherry Scott - Taranaki Rhododendron Gardens tour.
I’m not prepared to name a highlight garden because I thoroughly enjoyed all the various gardens and it’s impossible to compare them as each had a different aspect of gardening. I would certainly recommend the boat ride at Tawhiti museum for a fun activity. Our driver Graeme went about his duties in an efficient but unobtrusive manner and each morning the bus was always clean and tidy for the day ahead.

Dulcie & Geoff Dixon - Doubtful Sound & West Coast Odyssey tour.
Everything was as near perfect as one could arrange for a group of 15 'mature travellers'. We were so well catered for on every level and that was apparent as the days went by. We relaxed, met and made new friends with a lot of laughter and a sense of comradeship at being 'out there doing it' not just wishing. The chance to travel into Doubtful Sound was wonderful. To do it with the companionship of the group made it so special. For more than a few of us our guide Brent is the same age as our own sons making it very easy to chat and get long with him. Always diligent as to the needs of the group and duties that needed to be done. Knowledgeable and funny. He is an asset to MoaTours.

Gail Senear - Queenstown New Year's Eve tour.
My favourite activities were the Jet Boat ride in Te Anau, cruising Milford Sound on the tender, I also had time in Te Anau to have a foot and leg massage at the hotel. Loved Distinction Te Anau with a ground floor room overlooking the lake, best service from the staff, could have stayed another night to make full use of their massage treatments. Thank you for providing transport to and from Millbrook Resort after our flight was cancelled. We enjoyed our trip with a friendly bunch of people, who all got on well together, with no moans or groans.

Sue Harvey - Christmas in Marlborough tour.
I enjoyed the smaller group tour so would do another one. Good to go with a friend and share experiences. I enjoyed seeing a part of NZ I had never been to and going on a tour was very good value. It was wonderful to get picked up and brought home without having to worry. Our guide Richard was extremely courteous and considerate of all passengers. His thoughtfulness on Christmas Day while we were travelling to Picton for lunch was exceptional - I mean to say who expected delectable cherries and mince pies to be passed around the bus.

Nancy Hustler - Molesworth Station, Abel Tasman & Golden Bay tour.
I have had a wonderful experience with MoaTours. I loved the way everyone quickly became a family and cared for each other. Our driver Matt was awesome, great fun and caring. He gave us a great commentary as we toured the country. All of the accommodation was of a very high quality. I recommend the experience and think it is well worth doing.
