Visitors as usual (but not if you're unwell or recently returned from overseas)
For the best of our resident's and staff member's comfort, many great changes are happening at the Vincentian home since November 2020. We are renovating the common areas and bedrooms, some are already completed. Cozy and bright rooms equipped with tv are waiting for their new residents.
A new smart wireless nurse call system will be installed shortly for faster reaction to all our resident's needs.

There is no place quite like your own home but sometimes remaining there is just not possible. Vincentian is far more than simply somewhere else to live. Here, we aim to provide you with an enjoyable quality of life whether you require rest home or hospital care.

You will be able to enjoy organised activities each day. There are outings to a wide variety of places. And we provide for your personal and spiritual needs irrespective of race, religion, status or circumstances.

Each resident of Vincentian has their own room which means you can bring your favourite mementos as well as your memories.

We invite you to pay us a visit and experience the homely atmosphere. You will find us handily located in a quiet area of Berhampore, within a 5 km radius of most Wellington suburbs. It is near the bus route which runs through Newtown to the Railway hub.

Interests & Activities
Interests & Activities
Vincentian's recreation programme makes each day fulfilling and rewarding and is thoroughly enjoyed by residents. The entertainment and therapeutic activities, for groups and individuals, are organised by our highly experienced occupational therapist. When you arrive we will ask about your particular interests and try to include these pursuits just for you.

Typically daily activities can include:

Morning exercises and walks (weather permitting)
News and views on headlines, history, weather and other topics
Group crosswords and word games
Table games and housie
Bowls, quoits and other games
Art and craft projects and other creative activities

If you like music you will enjoy our CD collection of old-time, classical, Irish and easy listening music. There is a regular Saturday Music Morning and each month we have sing-a-long sessions with visiting singers or musicians on piano, piano accordion or guitar.

If reading is one of your past-times we have a good selection of books (including large print) and magazines in our library. Also, the WCC Household Library Service calls regularly with more choices and Talking Books.

Both of our two main lounges have large screen televisions for communal movies (we have a good film library) and agreed TV programmes, such as Coronation Street and the 6pm News. We also have a number of smaller lounges throughout the home for relaxing and enjoying the sunshine.
