May Bring Own Furniture Yes Rooms are furnished with a hospital bed with pressure relieving mattress, bed side cabinet, chest of drawers, wardrobe, lazy boy recliner and a visitors chair. Residents are welcome to bring in photos, and small items.

Ensuite Yes All rooms have a full ensuite with toilet, shower and hand basin, vanity unit, mirror, towel rail, and hooks
Alcohol Permitted Yes We have 'happy hour' on a Friday in the Community Centre. Alcohol where appropriate is permitted in Resident's Rooms.

Lounges/seating areas Yes Observatory Village has a care centre Atrium and a community centre which all residents are welcome to use. Both lounges and the Movie room have large flat screen TV"s. All have SKY. The internal courtyard and outside areas have seating to enjoy the sun.

What's included in your fees and what's not Full fees and what the fees do not include can be accessed by phoning Observatory Village and asking for a pack to be sent out. Due to the government changing the cap for Subsidy payment it is difficult to give this information in this forum.
Staffing qualifications and details Trained Staff delivering excellent care is an important focus. All caregivers are assisted to achieve Level 3 Healthcare Worker qualification
Details about meals Our meals are delicious! All food is prepared in our own kitchen on the premises. We can cater for different dietary needs such as diabetics and vegetarians.

Inter denominational Yes Whilst we are not affiliated to any one religion we do have services on a monthly basis. These are shared on a rotational basis among different churches in Oamaru. We have a Chapel available within the community centre.
