St Johns Wood offers the perfect choice for independent retirement village living as well as rest home and hospital care.

It's an easy walk to town or the lakefront and the level footpaths are great for mobility scooters. Two-minutes drive from the centre of town, it is close enough for you to easily keep your old connections and networks going, while enjoying a caring, relaxed village lifestyle.

For example:

- The Taupo Medical Centre and Taupo Health Centre are just 400 metres away
- The Taupo RSA and Cosmopolitan Club is just 650m away
- Pak’n Save Supermarket: 650m away, and
- The Taupo Library 1km away

At St Johns Wood you’ll be close to the things that matter, while having the added reassurance of friendly, professionally trained staff, in-house home care and superior rest home and hospital amenities as an option, should your care needs change.

Take the stress out of your day knowing that your gardening and maintenance is taken care of. Leave the cooking to someone else and enjoy home cooked lunches and dinners in our dining room or delivered to your room*. Morning and afternoon tea is served daily in the main lounge.

There is also a hospitality suite for guests and family members visiting from out of town. Three communal lounges/dining room, games room, library and a physiotherapy room.

* Services, trips and events may incur an additional fee

Special Features
Special Features
We have available a Serviced Hospitality Unit in the Village available for the use of visiting friends and relatives. It is a 1 bedroom unit but will sleep up to four comfortably. This is currently charged out at $80/night.

We also have six Care Suites which are 1 bedroom units contained within our Rest Home facilty. Full care can be provided to residents in these Care Suites at either a rest home or hospital level care.

The Care Suites provide residents with the independence of Village living but with the additional care as it is needed. This prevents residents having to move from their units/apartments if their level of care needs change.

Our Care Suites have proved to be very popular and currently we have a waiting list for the suites.

We have recently converted a standard room into a Studio Unit. This unit has tea/coffee making facilities, wall mounted flat screen TV, fridge and microwave. It is available as under Licence to Occupy

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who ‘buy’ into a retirement village. If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.

In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
