Special Features
Tarahill Resthome was named after the ‘Hill of Tara’ in Ireland where the ancient Kings of Ireland were crowned. Tarahill was built in 1986, and is a level north facing home that gets the all day sun, looking across Te Awamutu - the proprietors living quarters are attached and Tarahill is 2 kilometres south of Te Awamutu. The grounds at Tarahill are expansive with good "off road" parking available. Tarahill Resthome is privately owned by Heather and Gordon Lydford - Heather has been Nurse Manager at Tarahill since 1996. Tarahill had its Certification audit in October 2018 & notified that we gained 4 years Certification. Residents hold monthly meetings and are actively involved with the planning of meals/menus - our main meal is at night which the residents vote on monthly - they want it this way as it is their "home". There are various planned activities & outings into the community if the residents wish to attend - their choice. Staff training is held monthly, covering all aspects of aged care & to maintain the comfort & safety of our residents. All Full shift staff are competent with First Aid & Medi Map Medication administration. We are here to help you and your family and look forward to caring and sharing the experience with you all. |
