Description
At Everil Orr our care and service reflects Oceaniahealthcare values of delivering care with respect, passion and excellence.

Everil Orr Village is located beside one of the golden triangle of Volcanic cones, Mount Albert, adorned by mature native trees and alive with native birds.

Ashby wing is our dedicated Rest Home wing with 13 bedrooms, one room is a spacious double room. From the sunny lounge we have extensive views of the upper harbour.

Our home also offers Hosptial level care, either permanent, shortstay , day relief and palliative care.
Our team of experienced Registered Nurses are rostered on all shifts and are supported by our loving team of health care assistants.

Everil Orr is known for its homely feel, friendly staff, excellent care and readiness to have a bit of fun.

Activities are organised by the activities team who work flexible hours to ensure residents have plenty of opportunity to enjoy a varied program. We have a weekly shopping trip and one or two other outings per week.

Our physiotherapy assistant is a trained tai chi instructor. Tai Chi is held twice a week and is very popular.

Registered Nurse Yes We have Registered nurses on duty 24 hours a day in both the hospital and rest home. This is complimented with our very experienced Clinical Leader who leads our clinical care team.Out of hours support is also provided for our nurses.
Healthcare Assistants/Caregivers Yes Health care assistants make up the largest number of our care staff. Training is provided and encouraged for all of our staff so they provide skilled, competent care with confidence and compassion. We have a multi cultural group of workers.
Physiotherapist Yes A fully qualified physiotherapist works on site each week on contract and this is complimented with a fully trained physiotherapist assistant who works four days per week under the supervision of the physiotherapist.
Occupational Therapist Negotiable The rest home is able to access the services of an occupational therapist for a resident if and when the need arises. This service is available at the residents own expense.
Own Social Worker No We do not have a resident social worker but we are able to access these services for a particular resident should the need arise.Our Chaplain is a trained social worker and can direct you to appropriate service providers.

Activities Co-ordinator Yes We have an activities coordination team who work flexible hours so that events can be held during the day, in an evening or at the weekend. We have regular Happy Hours, birthday celebrations and outings, including visits to the mall.
Hairdresser Yes We have a hairdressing salon on site. Services are at the individuals expense but prices are kept as low as possible for your conveninece. Our small Village shop stocks a good range of hair products.
Podiatrist Yes We have a contracted podiatrist who visits our facility as required. Residents are also able to make appointments directly. Charges vary according to the individual resident's circumstances.
Dietitian Yes A dietitian provides assistance for individual residents as required in conjunction with our Kitchen Manager. We have a summer menu and a winter menu that is dietician approved and audited to ensure we are able to provide well balanced nutricious meals.
Kaumatua No We have an established relationship with the Manurewa Marae and consult with cultural advisors particularly in regard to the Maori and Pacific Island cultures.
Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor Yes A chaplain is based on site, visits our residents regularly and welcomes interaction with residents of all religious backgrounds. She is particularly skilled in providing guidance during end of life care. She leads regular worship services and funerals.
Other Personnel Yes We have a number of ethnically diverse volunteers who are involved in a range of activities in the resthome. We warmly welcome anyone interested in volunteering to contact us.

May Bring Own Furniture Yes Resdients are welcome to bring any pieces of furniture that will amke their room feel more like home for them. The exception is sometimes their own bed if this poses a safety risk to the resident or to our staff.

Pets In Residence Yes We have several pets in residence including birds, cats and fish.

Semi-Secure No Everil Orr is not a secure or semi-secure facility. However our staff do keep close track of our residents and their whereabouts to ensure their safety.
Sprinklers Yes We have a robust fire protection service. The sensitive fire alarm system ensures the safety of all our residents. A sprinkler system is installed and is regularly monitored. All staff are trained in fire evacuation and management.

Special Features
We enjoy beautiful views of the Waitemata harbour. The park like gardens are well maintained and spending time in the grounds on a fine day is peaceful and relaxing.

There is lots going on and lots of life to live here with new friends waiting to be met.

We have a large multi cultural staff which brings many good things to Everil Orr. It provides us with contrast and diversity as well as an ability to accomodate many different languages. Our staff are not only well trained and competent but bright, cheerful, happy and caring.

Our on site kitchen is able to provide lovely meals and snacks and to cater to everyones individual preferences and needs.

Interests & Activities
We encourage our residents to continue with activities already of interest to them as well as to discover new ones.
We organise a varied programme and offer the opportunity for specially requested events and outings as well.
Residents have the opportunity of joining in with a group, getting together with a friend or visitor or spending some quiet time alone. There are many places available to suit all of these needs.
Books, games and movies etc. are left out for you to choose to use anytime.

Details re Meals We have a Summer Menu and a Winter Menu which change with the season. Menus are planned for a month at a time, with no repetition during the month period. These rotate through the season. We provide a vegetarian option at each meal. Individual preferences, choices, cultural considerations and needs are all catered for.
Staffing Details Our kitchen is well staffed with trained competent cooks and chefs. Our menu is audited and planned by a dietician to ensure you recieve a well balanced nutricious diet. Our dietician is available to consult on specific needs as required.
Associated Complexes The Everil Orr facilities include a rest home, hospital and a Retirement Village is currently under construction.
