We provide a Carer to come into your home to provide 24/7 care.

We offer Live-in Care for you and/or your loved one, in the comfort of your own home environment.

Meantime, the full time Carer can take a well earned break, visit family or friends, or even remain in the house while our Carer attends to both yourself and your loved one.

An opportunity for both the family member and the Carer to catch a breath and revitalise.

We cover the whole of Waikato through Hamilton, Matamata, Te Aroha, on to Thames/Coromandel, and anywhere in between, for any length of time, any time of the year.

We have also worked in Nelson and Pukekohe, so we are available to travel to you wherever you may be.

NZ and UK Experienced in Elderly care.

Quality companionship, personal care and general housekeeping as you would expect of yourself.

Up to date Individual NZ Police Check available

Ministry of Health Disability and Support Link assessed Carer Support Days may be used to subsidise our daily fee.

Private care is available as well.

Dear Karen,

I would like to express my appreciation and grateful thanks for your all round care and support for the 3 months you lived with us 24/7 to look after my stroke affected husband Rex and myself until I recovered from a hip operation.

Then within a short period, we were very thankful to have you back with us again. This time to care for Rex when he was diagnosed with a terminal cancer. During this sad time without your loving care, respect and support, Rex would not have been able to spend his last couple of months comfortably at home, where he wanted to be.

Topic Details
What's included in your fees and what's not Unless undue circumstances e.g. emergency care required, or long distance travel involved, we will meet with prospective clients for a face to face catchup, to enable both parties to discuss care / routines required, quote for daily fee, timing of respite care required etc. This means both parties are able to assess compatibility No fee is charged for this visit, unless in exceptional circumstances
Staffing qualifications and details We have access to the best Carers, both New Zealand and UK experienced
Details about meals Meals are cooked from food in the client's home or purchased as requested by the fulltime Carer. We love to cook the favourite meals of the client wherever possible. The Respite Carer eats the same food as the client, and at the same time, whenever possible. If the Respite Carer has a special diet, the Respite Carer will provide her own food.
Visitor information Visitors to the Client's home are most welcome, and in fact encouraged, so long as both the client and/or the fulltime carer have provided permission. Confidentiality of the details of the client's situation must be respected though by anybody visiting who is not immediate family or otherwise has a very strong and close bond with the client. If it appears that the client is upset by a visit / visitor, it must be respected by the visitor that the Respite Carer be allowed to suggest and expect the visitor to leave.
Recreational opportunities All hobbies / interests will be encouraged, as will outings if at all possible, eg. Cafes, family, friends, short / long walks in the neighborhood. The reading / viewing of the latest local / national news would be encouraged whenever possible, and active participation in discussion / debate would be thoroughly enjoyed and encouraged by the Respite Carer. Respite Carers love, encourage and enjoy participation in completion of crosswords / puzzles etc as clients may wish.
Internet access It would be of great assistance if the Respite Carer had access to the internet. This is of huge assistance where any research on behalf of the client may be necessary, e.g. for any outing, directions for the Doctor etc. Also required for the Carer to have access to family if the respite is for a longer period of time.
Transport If the client has a vehicle with up to date WOF and Registration, and the client has provided permission for it's use, a Respite Carer might decide to use either that vehicle, or the Respite Carer's own vehicle. This may simply be a decision regarding client access and comfort. An agreement may be required regarding fuel expenses, but best that be discussed at the commencement of the respite. Respite Care Waikato Limited documentation will need to be signed by the Fulltime Carer in acknowledgement that the Respite Carer has permission to take the client out in either the client's vehicle, or the Respite Carer's vehicle.
Associated Complexes The safety and security of the client will be considered by the Respite Carer as just as appropriate within any situation outside the home, as it would be within the client home.

Pets In Residence Yes Client pets would not normally pose a problem for our Carers, and in fact, in most cases would provide ongoing comfort, security and stability for our clients.
Provide End of Life/Palliative Care Yes Most definitely available for 24hr care of a palliative client. We work alongside Hospice Nurses and the client's Doctor

Respite Yes We try to ensure the client has as much of an enjoyable break as the carer who may have traveled overseas or to spend time with friends/family. Favourite foods, outings if possible to ensure it is a fun time for everyone.
Carer Support Yes A short break for the Carer means a chance to relax, revitalize their own system and also maybe a chance to review and look at other ways of doing things that provide more relief or less stress. Without this break it is very hard to provide full-on loving care, every day of the year.
High Care Needs Yes Palliative Care, alongside Hospice Nurses - 24/7 Care Post Operation Care e.g. Hip Replacement, Cancer Operations etc Dementia, Parkinson's
Subsidised Yes Disability and Support Link will assess your priority for subsidized respite care days, and this daily subsidy will go towards our fee. Most people pay the Top-Up at the end of the respite and we submit a claim to the MoH for the balance.
Private Paying Yes We will definitely be available for Private Care as well.
Booking can be made in advance Yes Advanced booking is always an advantage, for both the client and the carer, though urgent requirements will always be considered. Do please phone, you never know, another client may have cancelled because of other priorities.

Payment required Yes Disability Support Link may assess the availability of subsidized respite care days. If so, this subsidy will be paid for by the Ministry of Health or District Health Board At the end of the respite period, a Carer Support Claim form is completed by the Carer and Client. The agreed difference between the subsidy and the fee charged by Respite Care Waikato Limited, is then paid immediately by the Client/Fulltime Carer, and the subsidy claim is forwarded to the Ministry of Health for Payment to the Respite Care Support Carer )Unless the client has paid the full cost of the Respite Care and who then would be entitled to the subsidy direct from the MoH into the client's own bank account.
