We have disabled our ‘feedback’ feature. We apologise for any inconvenience. Find out more here: I want to read reviews of rest homes

Visitors as usual (but not if you're unwell or recently returned from overseas)
Our welcoming and affordable Care Studios feature a combined warm and sunny bedroom and modern kitchenette with a microwave and fridge. These studios also have their own private and personal ensuite bathroom. All Studios have access and views to our tranquil garden setting with its many restful areas for friends and family to use. Our bird aviary attracts a lot of attention and is enjoyed by all.

Bishop Selwyn is conveniently located to Hagley Park, local cafes, shopping centre, hospital, library and bowling club.

One of the benefits of living at Bishop Selwyn Village is receiving our meal service should you require this support. We also realise that using the same provider that you currently use for your home help and personal care is a great comfort to our residents. Respectively, you are very welcome to continue to use your home help service here at Bishop Selwyn Village.

We can offer the added peace of mind of an adjoining rest home and hospital complex should the need arise.

The Ministry of Health conducts regular audits of Residential Care Facilities. They can be found HERE.

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who ‘buy’ into a retirement village. If you intend to ‘purchase’ you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Some Retirement Village type facilities are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please make sure you investigate fully.

In some villages there may be some Retirement Village units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
