Description
A brand new, luxury facility is due to be completed in July 2019. This will feature spacious Care Suites for Rest Home and Hospital level care.

Our Care Offering
Formerly known as Trevellyn, Awatere has a warm, relaxed ambience, with friendly staff who offer excellent care to our residents. Our nurses are trained in palliative care and receive continuing education to keep up with new developments in the clinical field.

We provide a high level of care that reflects our residents’ individuality and their right to choice, respect and dignity. Our caregiving staff value and recognise each other’s contribution to the team as a whole. We encourage feedback and are continually thinking of ways to improve what we do and add value to our residents’ lives.

Activities
Our activities programme includes exercise sessions, discussion groups, boccia, bingo, outings and quizzes. Activities are supervised by a full time qualified Diversional Therapist and a monthly newsletter keeps residents up-to-date with what’s happening.

We also offer a range of special events to suit the tastes of most of our residents, including weekly entertainment by visiting musicians and regular country tours in our bus.

What’s Near By
Awatere is conveniently situated at the northern end of Hamilton’s main shopping area and business centre – it’s just a short bus ride into town. The Hamilton City Library is located in the centre of Victoria Street and visits by the community librarian can be arranged on request. Claudelends Park is only a 5 minute drive away. The local shopping centre at Beerescourt is within walking distance and offers a dentist, pharmacy, superette, take away shops and bakery.
