Norfolk Court Home & Hospital is committed to providing high quality person centred care to all residents, to promoting personal health and wellbeing in a friendly and homelike environment. Hospital, dementia and rest home care is provided by a dedicated and capable team of nurses and caregivers. The nursing team has a range of specialist clinical skills to ensure the effective care of people with medical health needs. This is enhanced by working closely with local medical, pharmacy, hospital and other health services.

All resident rooms have their own heat controls, have a shared or private ensuite, and their own ranchslider leading onto large deck areas.

Comfortable lounge and dining rooms are provided and also used for various recreational activities that keep residents, staff and visitors alike energized and smiling. Local entertainers provide regular musical sessions.

Details about Meals All meals are cooked on site and all recipes are planned in conjunction with the Dietitian to ensure that residents receive healthy, interesting and nutritious food.
Staffing Qualifications and Details We have 47 staff working in the service, including caregivers, nurses, household, administration and property maintenance. Al1 staff are trained to undertake their role effectively and are supported to do ongoing training and development, for example the Aged Care Education Core Programme (ACE), Supplement & Dementia. A compulsory monthly inservice programme covers many essential topics like dementia care, continence management, client rights and responsibilities, infection control, transfer and handling, and many others.

What's New

Very happy to announce that our new Clinical Nurse Manager, Rebecca Elder, joined us at Norfolk Court on 30 December 2019.  Rebecca is a very experienced Nurse who has held various clinical and service leadership roles.  Her most recent role was in the emergency department at Whangarei Hospital.  Rebecca would love to meet you so please ask for her or knock on her door at Norfolk Court.

The seasons come and go very fast these days with the Summer over and being exceptionally super hot and dry but the summer sun is still with us during which is now Autumn and we finally have some rain in which has been urgently needed by all up here in the north. Really cannot believe how fast this year is going as the first 1/4 of the year is almost over.Before we know it, we will be once again huddled up for the winter weather once again. We do have to count our blessings that we did not have to deal with the tragic times that our Aussie neighbours have just had but they are strong and will be back to normal again .
