Healthcare Assistants/Caregivers 722 Yes Health care assistants provide all 'hands on' care, with support from registered and enrolled nurses. Our health care assistants are supported fully to complete NZQA accredited career force training
Physiotherapist 35 Yes We have a rehab therapist who supports residents with a structured exercise programme, either individualised or in groups. Support from a DHB community health physio is available as required via a referral process
Occupational Therapist Negotiable We also support occupational therapy students during their training.
Diversional Therapist 133 Yes We have 2 diversional therapists, one for each dementia care wing. Diversional therapy is provided 9.5 hours per day, 7 days per week in both the secure units.
Activities Co-ordinator Yes Activities co-ordinators in the resthome work alongside dementia care therapists to ensure the residents in the secure units remain integrated with the community.
Hairdresser Yes We have our own 'on-site' salon. Bookings are available Monday to Friday 9.00am - 3.00pm.
Podiatrist Yes Visits 1 day per month. This service is free to diabetics.
Dietitian Yes Our menu is approved by a dietician and quality meals provided by our chefs 7 days per week.
Accredited Visitors Yes Staff are supported by volunteers
Kaumatua Negotiable Kaumatua support provided as required
Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor 50 Yes We have a chaplaincy service available to both residents and staff. We also have our own chapel. For more information email: chaplain@tamahere.co.nz

Day Care Yes We provide a day care programme 5 days per week. We also provide a transport service to and from the programme. A meal is provided at lunch time, and also morning and afternoon tea.
