The Julia Wallace Retirement Village is named after one of Palmerston North's most distinguished citizens and provides a full range of retirement living options along with the very best of resthome, hospital and dementia care from our friendly, caring staff.

The village is located in the prestigious Clearview Park subdivision, off Milson's Lane.

The village features the latest designs in retirement living providing Independent Townhouses, Serviced Apartments, Resthome, Hospital and Dementia Care set amongst beautifully landscaped gardens.

Care centre residents have access to beautiful spacious lounges, dining areas and serene outdoor spaces. Living areas are warm and inviting and provide the perfect setting to meet with family and friends to relax and enjoy.

The resort-style facilities can include a hair and beauty salon, café and shop. Our villages have beautifully landscaped gardens where you can enjoy peaceful strolls or have the space for the grandchildren to play.

For your peace of mind, we have 24-hour security to ensure your safety at all times.

Our Special Care Unit provides a kind and nurturing family environment. All rooms come with an personal ensuite. Our Activities programme is personalised to the interests of each Resident. Diversional Therapist Yes We currently have 2 diversional therapists who have a passion for older people. They provide an extensive programme of activities each month.
Hairdresser Yes We have 2 hairdressers who are very experienced catering for the older persons needs. They are very aware of the logisitics of getting to the saloon and make the experience very comfortable.
Podiatrist Yes The podiatrist visits on a 6 weekly basis and appointments can be made through the rest home.
Dietitian Yes All our meals have been carefully planned through a nutritionalist to provide a balanced and healthy diet. We actively listen to the needs of our residents and try to cater for those special needs. We communicate with the hospital dietitians for advice.

Gastronomy/Nasogastric Management Yes We are happy to accomodate residents with these needs so long as they meet the criteria of the local DHB governing admission.
Oxygen Management Yes This applies to people requiring oxygen.
Surgical Followup Yes We can provide private paying respite care to people following surgery and be advised by their surgeon of any ongoing needs.
Wound Care Yes As registered nurses we have alot of expertise in wound care and meet regularly to address any ongoing issues. Should the need arise for specialist advise we will liase with our wound care specialist.
Diabetic Care Yes We maintain strong links with the diabetic lifestyle unit at the hospital for advise and ongoing support.
Continence Advisor Yes As registered nurses we have the experience and expertise to manage incontinence and to provide the resident with education, support and the appropiate product. Staff have regular ongoing training and the local continence advisor is happy to help.
Infection Control Yes We have a registered nurse who has a passion and strong committment in reducing the icident of infections.
Stomal Therapist Yes We liase with this person from the local hospital to advise.
Specialised Dementia Care Yes We have a specialised dementia unit that has been reserached and designed in providing a safe, secure and stimulating environment. The staff have been training in managing people with dementia and to provide continual support for families.
Gerontological Care Yes Our registered nurses have the experience and expertise working with older people and the manager has a degree in Ageing.

Associated Complexes Julia Wallace Retirement Village is one of eighteen and the only one in the Manawatu. It is a member of the Ryman Healthcare Group. Six time winners of the Australasian Aged Care Housung Awards for "Best Retirement Village in New Zealand."
Fees Details/Fees Do Not Include The fees cover much of the care. Some medication is on-charged if not subsidised by Pharmac. Please ask for more details.
