Description
Our specialist Dementia Care Unit provides a safe environment for residents who are suffering from a dementing illness. We have a dedicated Clinical Manager who oversees the running of the unit alongside a group of well trained and caring staff, equipped with the skills to ensure your loved one is treated with respect, compassion and kindness.

Testimonials
Hi Denise
Thank you for everything that you did for my Dad, for me and his family. You made his transition into Aria Gardens so stress free at a very hard time. Having you at their front door, they are truly lucky – the day I first met you I knew that Aria Gardens would be the best place for my dear Dad. The love you show for your patients is amazing. Thank you Denise, also for all the hugs and for listening to me. You are amazing.

Good evening,
My mother has been in the Hibiscus wing in the Private hospital since May 2016.
I just want you to know how fantastic the staff are in particular Lorraine.
She is so caring and empathetic and always keeps the family fully informed when required.
The staff are all a credit to you.
Warm regards

Dear Leanne,
Thank you to those at Aria Gardens who have gone out of the way for my Mum and Dad was they both moved into your facility this week. We are grateful to the wonderful staff and the Facility Manager, for having a place that Dad and Mum can be in at different levels at the same place. Everyone is so caring, and flexible and they have both settled in so well. Thanks to all involved.

Aria Gardens,
I had come to Aria Gardens as an Interim Care patient, and I would have to say I am "Grateful to God for sending me here" to Aria Gardens.

Dear Jon

On behalf of myself and my family I would just like to pass on some thoughts in regards to my wife Jackie who passed away 4 weeks ago today and the care she received in Aria Gardens.

Jackie had been a patient at Aria Gardens for the last couple of years first starting in the Dementia Wing before being moved into the Hospital due to her decline in health.

While Jackie suffered from Dementia (which was hard enough on its own to deal with) she was also blind which made things even more challenging for your staff to help look after her.

In the last few days of her life the love, care and affection that Jackie received from the staff at Aria Gardens was beyond amazing.

I would once again like to say Thank You for all that you did for Jackie and I know that she would have appreciated everything that you did for her.

Yours Faithfully
Brian Weymouth & Family

I want to thank you for your care of Tony and welcoming him and us to make us feel like family.
You have managed him really well under difficult circumstances and all the while calmly supporting us too. Whenever I needed to talk, or ask questions I was always made to feel there was all the time in the world. I know there wasn't and you all have an extremely difficult job to do, and you all do it with such love and compassion to everyone. I consider myself blessed to have the good fortune to have placed Pop in your care. I have learnt much from the experience.

I haven't seen dad for a couple of weeks due to work and moving house. He looks amazing, it is a credit to you all. He is always lovely and clean and in nice warm clothes. I cant thank you enough. The wonderful care means I don't have to worry and there is always plenty of staff around. Words cannot describe my appreciation to you all. Thanks so much, Deborah Strickland

To all of the staff at Aria Gardens.
I would love to thank you all for the amazing job you do in looking after my father John. I cannot fault the Rest Home at all, dad is always immaculate from all of the hands on care and attention he receives and truly deserves from his personal cares, I can’t believe how great he always looks, always clean, never smelly, fingernails always done etc. His room is always clean in every way from his draws, bedding etc. and the fact that there is always something on in the way of activities, visitors, entertainment, van rides etc. The three years that dad has been there, I have never once had any concerns, only compliments. I am always phoned if there are any concerns or issues. When I was looking for care for my parents, I thought nowhere was as good as their own home, where I looked after them both for two years myself until I found Aria Gardens, which I am happy to say, even though dads dementia and physical condition has deteriorated, when we pulled in the drive, the lights went on and dad said to me “ah, I’m home”.
When I take him out, dad at times can become quite confused, but the minute I get him back to his environment, he becomes very relaxed and is back as he calls ‘home’ to all of his friends etc. where he feels safe and happy which is very reassuring. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Deborah

Hello Jon

I thought I would write this letter to you now while things were fresh in my mind.

When I had to move my mother into your facility back in September 2013, it was with some trepidation as I really had no idea how my mother would settle in.
I need not have worried......she settled very quickly because of the care and attention that she received from all the staff in the Resthome. Over the course of the next 8 months she moved into the Secure Dementia Wing and then in February this year she was finally moved to the hospital. The staff in every section of your facility are the most wonderful caring people but especially those who work in the hospital where she spent the last 4 months. Sadly she passed away on Monday but I know that I made the right choice when I arranged for her to be moved to Aria Gardens. Every one of the staff members treated her with kindness, gentleness and compassion and I know she was comfortable and happy while she was there. Your staff really are angels in disguise. I feel that mum had an extended family at Aria Gardens and would like to extend my gratitude to you all.

I have no hesitation in recommending your facility to people I know.

Kind regards
Linda Taylor

January 2014
To the staff at Aria Gardens.
After the passing of my mother Jean, on the 30th December 2013, my family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to all of the absolutely fantastic staff at Aria Gardens for all of the love and care given to mum in her 9 1/2 year tenure there.
Mum suffered her debilitating stroke at age 31, but with much perseverance and sacrifice, managed to raise her two children largely be herself. Mum eventually spent time in three rest homes in Hamilton, the last of which lead us to bringing her to Auckland due to her appalling care. We were convinced that she would not last a month longer.
The level of care displayed by all staff has been exemplary by the Aria family. Mum had a lifelong affection for birds and dogs and your allowance of mum to have a canary in her room made life a lot brighter for her.
Although a tea totaller most of her life, we did manage to cultivate a fondness for drinking Shandies which on occasion we would sneak into her room.
The staff at Aria Gardens give professional, compassionate care for the old, infirm and some cases forgotten. You are all just wonderful.
We wish you and your families all the very best for the future.
Thank you so much.
Paul, Debbie R & family
