Surrogate Grandparents is a New Zealand based Charitable Trust (CC54933) whose connects families with surrogate grandparents in order to forge lasting friendships and family bonds.

what problems are we helping to solve?
Social isolation and loneliness are much more serious than just uncomfortable feelings... Research has shown that social isolation and loneliness has been linked with increased mortality, depression, high blood pressure and dementia. These are serious issues in New Zealand and not just for our older generations. Social isolation and loneliness are problems that people struggle with right across New Zealand's social demographics on a daily basis.

how can surrogate grandparents help?
Surrogate Grandparents can be the bridge that connects generations. By connecting families with surrogate grandparents and grandparents with our children; we can fight social isolation and loneliness in New Zealand. Working together, we can make New Zealand a more caring and connected nation.

Relationship and Counselling Services Yes Keep your mind active and prevent the loneliness by adopting a family close by. It's always good to have someone to keep you company and to talk to over a cuppa tea or two.
Fitness and Recreation Yes Young Children can certainly keep you on your toes! Getting out and about with a family with children and enjoy the wonders of youth. Are you into arts and crafts, woodworking, sports? Perhaps you can share your skills with your new family?

Surrogate Grandparents NZ is a non profit organisation that aims to bring together families and "Surrogate Grandparents" to those who feel they may benefit from such a union.

Perhaps you have moved to New Zealand to be with your partner and left your family behind in another part of the country or world, or perhaps your parents are no longer alive? Maybe your children have decided not to have their own children, or are living a distance away and you have loads of love to give?

Whatever your circumstances, Surrogate Grandparents NZ hope to help you bridge that gap, by providing support, friendship & fun through the uniting of strong family partnerships.
