We are the only private facility in Christchurch who specialises in palliative care. We have a homel... (more)We are the only private facility in Christchurch who specialises in palliative care. We have a homely 6-bed palliative wing that is separate from the rest of the facility, so residents and families do not feel they are living in a rest home. This wing has it's own lounge for family members, with a kitchenette for making cuppas and a sofabed for staying the night. This unit is for people of any age who require end of life care.
We receive ongoing support from Nurse Maude in order to ensure that we provide the best possible care for your family member.
When we do not have any palliative beds available, we are more than able to have your family member admitted to our general hospital wing and then transfer them to our Palliative Unit when a bed becomes available. They will still receive the same high level of care that they require until this transfer takes place.
