Safety Issues When Accessing Services: We do not and can not vet or scrutinise services listed on Eldernet. This responsibility is yours. Please therefore ensure that all standard precautions are taken when accessing any service. This includes asking for and checking references (particularly if a service is unknown), obtaining written quotations where appropriate, asking for identification from unknown callers, asking who you can contact if things go wrong etc. Do not give an open cheque or pin number to those who provide you with a service. (Note: A number of services on Eldernet hold Government and/or District Health Board contracts. Their service has therefore been scrutinised by the contracting authority.)
