Registered Nurse Yes We have three Charge Nurses who cover day to day running of each Unit. They are responsible for residents wellbeing and staff working in their Unit.We employ registered nurses for each shift 24/7.
Nurse Practitioner No We have a Clinical Nurse Manager who oversees the residents wellbeing for the entire facility. This includes employment, training, competencies amongst other areas to ensure wellbeing and best practice care for residents.
Enrolled Nurse Yes We have one Enrolled Nurse to support the clinical team in the delivery of care.
Healthcare Assistants/Caregivers Yes Caregivers are all completing training or have already completed caregiving courses. We also provide on going compulsory training for all staff.
Physiotherapist Yes The Physiotherapist visits weekly. We aim to optimise and maintain a resident's independence and mobility . In addition to physiotherapy offered within our contract, extra visits may be able to be offered at the residents own cost.
Occupational Therapist 64 Yes We have an Occupational Therapist on site for referrals as required.
Social Worker (on site) No We can access the support of a Social Worker with a referral to Mid Central Health or the Arohanui Hospice whichever is more appropriate.
Diversional Therapist 40 Yes Three members of the activities team are progressing with their Diversional Therapy qualifications.
Activities Co-ordinator 40 No Our activities team offers daily activities ie van outings,crosswords, newspaper reading,entertainers and craft activities amongst others. The activities team meet with all residents to provide individual residents with meaningful and focused activities.
Hairdresser 12 Yes Salon onsite for appointments.
Podiatrist Negotiable The Podiatrist visits 6 weekly. The cost is at the residents own expense unless there is a clinical cause for a referral to be made by the medical or clinical team eg diabetes.
Dietitian 10 Yes We have a contracted Dietician who visits fortnightly and oversees the menus, kitchen and any resident concerns ie weight loss.
Accredited Visitors Negotiable We do our best to address the resident's need. We have access to interpreters as required.
Kaumatua Yes Our local Iwi Kaumatua addresses cultural queries or concerns. Our Maori Framework Group staff representatives will seek our Kaumatua's input in relevant policy development and review.
Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor Yes We access a Spiritual Advisor through Arohanui Hospice as requested. We run Church Services on Sundays and Communion on Wednesdays. These are led by local parishes. If a certain denomination is requested we can access the appropriate spiritual leader.
Other Personnel Yes While residents may choose to retain their own GP, there is an option to transfer to the onsite GP. Our GP visits residents who require medical assessment as requested by our clinical team. In addition he also reviews facility residents three monthly.

This facility provides a modern well equipped and homely environment for 35 Hospital Care Residents. All bedrooms are single with an en suite and a range of services including onsite allied health services. These are available for subsidised and private paying Residents including long-term, Respite or convalescent care and carer relief.

Rehabilitation Service

The Village Rehabilitation Service caters for older people of the MidCentral region who require further rehabilitation to improve their level of independence and quality of life.

Our service is complimentary to the services already available in the community.

Our main contract is with the MidCentral District Health Board for 'Slow Stream Rehabilitation'. Most people who access our service come from either Palmerston North or Horowhenua hospitals.

Our service provides facilities for clients to;

Receive our services at Home
Individual programmes are established for each person.

Our service aims to maximise a person's independence and autonomy, which provides a greater choice for how and where they may live their lives.

Our environment is homely and comfortable, with each client able to enjoy the privacy of their own room.
