Registered Nurse 24/7 Yes Lancewood has a team of Registered Nurses on staff, they look after the Hospital level residents but also oversee the clinical care of the rest home level residents. There is a Registered Nurse on shift 24 hours a day
Healthcare Assistants/Caregivers Yes Most of the caregivers have qualification in the care of the older person and first aid, we have currently 3 caregivers completing the Ace Program in house.
Own Social Worker Negotiable We have a network of social workers at the Marton health Centre, they can be contacted for assistance with documents, aids or advice.
Activities Co-ordinator 30 Yes We have new activities person currently under orientation, she is developing her plan of activities, which is varied, stimulating and flexable to meet the nedds of the residents
Hairdresser weekly Yes We are very fortunate to have a local lady fulfill this role, she has excellent prices for the residents and is flexible with the day of visits
Podiatrist 3monthly Yes A regular 3 monthly visit from Lorraine Mcrae from Palmerston North. The residents thoroughly enjoy the pamper
Dietitian Yes Menus are audited every 2 years or if there is major changes. she can be contacted for advice Meals are cooked on sight
Kaumatua Negotiable We have a current agreement with Te Kotuku hauora O Rangitikei to provide cultural supervision. We also have access to the local Kaumatua in Bulls if assistance is required other than family
Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor weekly Yes Services are held every week with each denomination, the residents choose to participate.
Other Personnel Yes We have a wonderful lady that comes in once a week to talk to all the residents individually, we have given her the title of Emotional support person, the residents enjoy her visits and it gives them the opportunity to talk to a independent person

Special Features
We are proud to provide a relaxed and resident focused home, with the old world charm from the 14 foot stud, wooden floors and enormous grounds where the resident don't feel closed in. Staff turnover is low, and we are all a big family.

Lancewood is an intergrated Rest Home & Hospital, we have 24/7 nursing care on to assist the rest home residents as required.

Outings
On Friday the 20th August a few of the resident went on the Overlander train to Taihape the views were magnificient, we had lunch and returned on a bus home.

One of our registered Nurses came with us and this was the first time she had been on a train, the residents loved participating in her excitment.
