Special Features
Ropata Village is operated as a “not for profit” Charitable Trust the beneficiaries of which are the Village apartment owner occupiers. The Trust is registered with the Charities Commission under the Charities Act 2005.

The Village provides a unique service in assisted supported living care for the elderly. Residents own their own apartments in their own right by way of unit title rather than the more common Licence to Occupy structure and therefore enjoy the benefit of being in their own home whilst enjoying the level of care and service they require. Some residents will be quite independent and others will require more personal care and / or nursing assistance.

Generally the Village has a few apartments available for short term stays for respite or convalescent care. This service is ideal for those people who may need care and support following hospital discharge or perhaps when their caregiver and / or family members are away on holiday. Clients of ACC and also private medical schemes use the services of Ropata Village from time to time.

Due to the uniqueness of the Ropata Village concept details under Retirement Housing (Purchase) section of this website should be read in conjunction with his information.

Interests & Activities

Ropata Village encourages residents to participate in activities of their choice. Our vision is for the village to be interacting with the community on many levels.

In-house programmes include: in-door bowls; bingo; quizzes; puzzles.

Groups of residents meet at their leisure for cards, scrabble, mah-jong, rummikub and other games.

A Happy Hour is held on a monthly basis with drinks, finger food and music to a theme. The evening is kindly co-ordinated by members of a resident's family.

Choirs and musical performers are invited to perform in the atrium on a regular basis. The Connolly Street Early Years Childcare Learning Centre 4 yr olds call occasionally for a sing song and story time.

St Orans College students, under the guidance of their chaplain, have very kindly offered to implement an integrative programme between the school and the Village. We look forward to advising more detail of this initiative as the year progresses.

A strong sense of belonging makes it easy for family members to organise additional activities such as video/DVD nights, craft workshops and outings.
