| I work in a facility where we have a lot of residents that are at risk of falling, either because they have a decline in their mental capacity or a deteriorating physical condition.It is important to encourage and maintain what level of mobility they still have and hip protectors provide that extra insurance against injury should they have a fall. We urge all of our residents to wear them and have no trouble convincing families that they play an important role in helping to keep them safe. I have been an advocate of them since their inception and continue to promote them having seen the difference they have made to preventing hip fractures.
