We are a 21 bed secure Dementia Rest Home on the out skirts of the small North Canterbury town of Amberley.

Our aim is to provide quality specialised Dementia care, in a relaxed, caring, friendly, country home like environment, where physical and psychological needs are met regardless of race or culture.

When we have a bed available it is able to be used for long term care, respite care or short term care. We also take in day care for people whose carers would like a break for the day to go shopping or just have a rest. We have an extensive activity programme including pianists, gardening, games, tai chi, swimming and special theme days. We enjoy great staffing levels with experienced and trained staff. We have a registered Nurse/Owner and 2 qualified Diversional Therapists, and are therefore able to enjoy giving residents lots of one on one care.

Details re Meals Home cooked hot meal at lunch time with dessert. Light meal in the evening, breakfast between 7am - 10am in bed or in the dining room. Home baking for morning/afternoon tea and supper.
Staffing Details Minimum of 2 staff. Morning ratio 1:4. Afternoon ratio 1:7. Registered Nurse 40 hours per week and on call 24 hours per day. 2 trained Diversional Therapists., motivation at weekends and in the evenings.
