Fitness and Recreation Yes A monthly outing of interest to older people. A monthly community lunch at a nominal rate. Social morning tea every Tuesday and Friday morning.

Description
Currently situated in the hall of St Columba's Presbyterian Church, Age Concern comprises of a community worker Ria Kersjes 30 hours a week and Administrator Jenny Pearce 30 hours weekly A small band of loyal volunteers enhance the work of Age Concern

Special Features
The office is open Monday - Friday 9- 3pm for enquiries. Come in and ring the bell for attention if no one in the room.

The Communirty Worker is available for consultations at the Centre on a Tuesday morning 9.30 - 11.30am. Home Visits can also be arranged.

Other Community Services may include, arranging a regular, companion visitor (AVS Accreditied Visiting Service) Total Mobility Assessment for Taxi discount vouchers. Advocacy with family members or professionals.Transport to important appointments or venues.Monthly outing and community lunch at nominal rate. Sit n Be Fit Classes run by a qualified instructor from Sports HB. Frozen meals service (delivery can be arranged on Tuesday morning $3 extra).
Every friday morning we hold a morning tea group ($2 donation). ALL WELCOME. transport can be arranged.

Visiting Service No Yes No Ria the Community Worker's role is to visit people, assess them and put into place services that may be required.
Activities/Exercise Programme No Yes No Friday morning is social morning tea mornings. Monthly community lunch. Monthly outing. Sit to be Fit' classes start at 10.45am for a small charge. Tai Chi Classes starting soon
Other Social Support No Yes No Advocacy, transport, visiting service, assessment for taxi discounts, monthly general shopping. Transport applies to areas outside Havelock North eg Hastings.
