Riverview Retirement Village

Riverview Care Home is proud to offer new services to this community - respite and rehabilitation care, as well as day care.
One of our main focuses with rehabilitation is helping people with health problems arising from diabetes. We can do this on a shorter or longer term basis, through day care, respite care or short or longer term residential care – whatever suits your needs best. If you come to us for rehabilitation, we will work with you to get you well and ready to live at home again, as soon as possible. If you come to us for longer term care, our flexible approach will ensure that you receive the right care, your way. We know how important it is to have choices, and for the people looking after you to understand you. Our nursing and care staff give care in a way that is friendly and respects the wishes of each resident. This reflects a combination of our training, and the effort we make to really get to know each resident, through something we call the Map of Life. Through this, we understand what has been important in each person’s life, as well as their particular likes, dislikes, and preferences. Once we have this understanding, we can give the care that each person needs in a way that is right for them. We welcome friends and family at any time. The great reputation of the food our chef prepares means that friends and family often join their special people here for a meal (for a small charge). Our residents also enjoy getting out and about in the Bupa van. A welcoming, well-equipped, purpose-built home, Riverview is known in the local community for our homely atmosphere and for the excellent care provided by our friendly staff. You can find us in Gisborne, on a picturesque site next to the Taruheru River, close to all amenities. We would be delighted to have the opportunity to talk with you about our care. Please phone Robyn Cheyne, our care home manager, or feel free to drop in at any time. Our facility also offers these services: |

| BUPA Care Services Group provides continuing care to older New Zealanders with products and services to help them get the most out of life whether they’re living in their own homes or in residential care.
We are a major player in New Zealand’s medical alarm business through BUPA Personal Medical Alarms. We also sell life care products and offer support to older people living at home through our companionship and day care programmes. We are one of New Zealand’s largest private owner/operator of rest homes and hospitals. We are building independent units and serviced apartments close to our rest homes and hospitals to create ‘care villages’ where people can live independently, but with practical help and care available whenever they need it. |

NOTE: The Retirement Villages Act 2003 (hereafter referred to as The Act) is designed to provide improved protection for people who buy into a retirement village. If you intend to purchase you must get independent legal advice before signing your occupation right agreement as required under The Act. Further information about Retirement Villages is available in the section 'Frequent Questions'. Some Retirement Villages are not required to register under The Act so different legal requirements apply. Please do your homework.
In some villages there may be some units that have multiple uses e.g. a Serviced Apartment may also be used as a Residential Care Suite. The same unit may therefore show in several places on Eldernet.
