The Opunake Districts Rest Home Trust, in partnership with Residents and their families, will provide a Resident centred service for elderly people within their community that promotes independence and quality of life. This consultation will ensure the provision of a service that is comprehensive, multidisciplinary, values driven, appropriate, and safe.

Interests & Activities

The Cottage offers a comprehensive activity programme that combines individual needs with group activities.
Our Diversional Therapy team work with Residents to put together a set of enjoyable activities that encourage physical, mental, and social participation, as well as maintaining contact with local community groups, and support agencies. We enjoy good support from Alzheimer's Society,Arthritis Society,Parkinson's Society,and the local Friendship Club. We are also fortunate to have wonderful community support for our Volunteer Programme, who provide entertainment, wheelchair pushing for trips to town, and our volunteer Pastoral Carers work with local clergy to ensure any concerns Residents may have are resolved successfully.
