Hairdresser Yes We have a resident hairdresser who comes in fortnightly to attend to our residents' hair requirements and one Caregiver who is a trained hairdresser and gives our residents a hair style for those special occassions or just a 'pick me up'.
Podiatrist Yes We have a six weekly visit from our Podiatrist.

Outings Yes Residents go out on a touring bus weekly,sightseeing North Shore beautiful beaches,or Lake Pupuke .Twice weekly for coffee mornings at the local Malls. Church afternoon tea groups, when invitations arise Probus and Prescott Clubs outings weekly.
Rural Setting No We are located on Aucklands' sunny North Shore at Northcote Point..and often our Residents walk (supervised)to beautiful Shoal Bay Beach and take a picnic lunch and enjoy our beautiful surroundings

Semi-Secure Yes We have digital locks on all main exit doors and gates. Whilst our Residents wander, they are safe and do not feel the 'locked in' claustrophobia of Dementia Care Units.

Special Features
We offer a small,homely 27 bed "Villa". With our special interest in people of all ages with Alzheimers Disease and those who wander, we provide a Semi-Secure environment which is non - violent and allows our Residents to walk freely and safely without that 'locked in ' feeling of a totally secure Unit. All the staff at Shoal Bay provide the reassurrance and care our Residents need to live with dignity,safety and respect in our beautiful environment
