Special Features
Mercy Parklands has a beautiful chapel which is used daily by our residents of all denominations. Our pastoral care team facilitates daily services in the chapel.
Our palliative care wing of 4 beds is designed for the comfort of residents requiring end of life care. The rooms are carpeted with ensuites and TV's.

Wherever possible our rest home residents requiring hospital level care, remain in their own rooms, transferring rooms unless requested or advised is avoided.

It is important that we recognise the lives of our residents. In order to capture and share this information and with the support of the activities team, staff complete individual profiles for residents which is displayed in their rooms.

Interests & Activities

Activities
Mercy Parklands has an in-house activities coordinator who works with the Occupational therapist to provide a varied programme of activities and entertainment which meets the needs of both the resthome and hospital residents.

We have access to transport fitted to take wheel chairs so all residents can take part in outings and attend functions.

We provide a library service supported by the local library service. Residents have access to both CD's and videos.

We encourage families to bring family pets to visit the residents and include pet therapy in our programme.

Included in our activity programme is Bingo, visits by the Blind Foundation, Board games, Bowls, , Daily Chapel, , Weekly Concerts, Cooking demonstrations, Balance& other exercises, There is a raised garden cared for by the residents. Happy Hour is held every week. Pastoral care is available at all times and we have a dedicated pastoral care team who provide daily services in our beautiful chapel located within the facility. Sky TV is available in the lounges.

Details re Meals Our kitchen manager is an experienced chef who is responsible for creating three interesting and nourishing meals daily. Special diets are catered for and the services of a dietician are available. Breakfast is served in bed or alternatively there is a continental breakfast served in the resthome lounge. Lunch is the main meal of the day and the evening meal is the lighter meal.
Staffing Details Mercy Parklands has 100 employees who receive additional support from a team of dedicated and caring volunteers. Our staff are selected for their skill and interest in caring for the health of older adults. Registered nurses supervise care 24 hours a day and are dedicated to maintaining the health and wellbeing of residents. Nursing and care staff work with doctors, physiotherapists and occupational therapists to provide the highest standard of care. Doctors visit regularly and provide 24 hour coverage. We invest heavily in ongoing training and staff development and are committed to the wellbeing of our staff, their health and safety. We also provide a caring and supportive environment for residents, staff and volunteers.

Fees Details/Fees Do Not Include Our residents pay as per the Ministry of Health contract. Private paying residents pay no more than $773.08per week Exclusive: $45.00 linen labelling (one off payment) $20.00 per month for the provision of Pastoral care.
