Special Features
On arrival, a visitor may be momentarily taken aback if expecting to visit some sort of 'institution'. The buildings are no different from the surrounding private homes; we are a large residential Home for the Elderly, tucked away in a quiet cul-de-sac.

When Lara Lodge was set up, the main objective was to create a home for the Elderly that was a "real home". From the entry, to the comfortable luxury of three lounges, the impression is one of strolling through what might be termed
"A Gentleman's Residence." This is further enhanced by the Lodge's delightful "Old World" Dining Room and the discreetly placed spacious bedrooms.

The north facing bedrooms and lounges look out onto sun drenched decks and a large shrubbery dominated by colourful rhododendrons and roses. The two sweeping deck areas are wonderful areas for relaxing in the sunshine and enjoying the view over the landscaped gardens. Both decks are sheltered from prevailing winds and one is under cover.

Our bedrooms enjoy a scenic outlook; some have their own private balconies. The most striking impression is the homeliness of our bedrooms (these are upgraded and redecorated regularly). Each is immaculately presented, most with their own basin/toilet facilities, and are spacious enough to be a comfortable bed-sitter. Residents can feel cosy and safe in the privacy of their own rooms, knowing that immediate attention is only a touch of a button away using the latest hospital-style call bell system.

A resident's telephone is available for general use. You may, hwever, wish to arrange for a private connection into your room giving access to phone and internet.

We can arrange for Sky installation on your behalf.
