To ensure that all residents are treated fairly, regardless of age, gender, racial or ethnic background, disability or other status. To provide opportunities for full development of each residents own potential and the right to access educational, cultural, spiritual and recreational resources of society to ensure the greatest quality of life possible. To encourage independence within the limits of each individuals capabilities. To respect the dignity, beliefs, needs, confidentiality, privacy of residents and their right to make decisions about the care and quality of life that they may want and receive. To maintain the residents contact and involvements with their own families and the community. |

Activity programme, Advocate, able to access the following groups(Age Concern, Alzheimer's Society, Blind Foundation, Stroke Group, Parkinson's Society etc), BBQ, Big print books, Bingo, Board games, Bowls, Breakfast in bed (most residents have breakfast in bed), Cards, Care and Craft, Children (grandchildren etc visit), Classical Music, Concerts, Craft, Digital camera, Email, Entertainers, Entertainment, Exercises, Fax, Flower arranging, Games, Garden, Gardening, Happy Hour (usually on Sundays), Indoor Games, Jigsaw, Massage (visiting massage therapists), Meal choices, Men, Music, Newspaper reading (daily - Dominion), Open fire, Outings, Parties, Pianist, Picnic facilities (go out for picnics), Quizzes, Reading, Religious services, Roses, RSA (visit weekly, we also take residents down to the RSA for dinner and drinks), Service women, Servicemen, Shopping (use a family car for individual excursions), Sing-a-longs, Singing, Videos, Vegetarian (as required), Views (many rooms have a lovely view across the back hills of Havelock North), Visitors are welcome at any time. |
