Special Features
Hikurangi Home is a gracious old homestead originally owned by Mr and Mrs Hope Gibbons. It is situated on Bastia Hill and is set in a park like setting. The Home was bought by the City Council and Anglican Church in 1953 and became a Home for Older Persons, the first Home in Wanganui. Over the years the home has been extended and facilities added to improve conditions for our Residents. Today the Home is run by a Charitable Trust and is licensed to provide Rest Home Level Care for Residents requiring support.

Interests & Activities

Activity programme that includes Bowls, Chapel, Concerts, Cooking, Craft, Entertainment, Exercises, Games, Garden walks, Happy Hour, Housie, Indoor Games, Library, Music, Newspaper reading, Outings, Shopping, Videos.

Breakfast in bed is available, although everyone is encouraged to have breakfast in the dining room for healthy social reasons.
