| Ascot House is an owner operated Stage II rest home located in beautiful Devonport and close to all amenities. Sited on half an acre of lovely gardens, the home overlooks the Waitemata Golf Course. The traditional villa style building portrays the grandeur of yesteryear yet is largely purpose-built to offer a range of accommodation options including ensuited bedrooms, single and double bedrooms.
Ascot House is licensed to care for 27 residents with varying degrees of disabilities and abilities. We also a day care programme for the older person who is as yet not ready to enter full time care. As owners/manager we are dedicated to providing the very best of care for every resident. We have excellent well qualified staff including our Registered Nurse Manager, all of whom have many years experience in caring for the elderly. Our resident house doctor visits regularly and we have an on-call 24 hour emergency medical service back-up, should it be required. All staff attend monthly in-service training to up-date and further develop their skills. In November 2003 Ascot House achieved certification in regard to the new Health & Disability Standards, meeting all criteria fully and including some criteria as being rated as highly as possible (i.e. recognition of "continual improvement". Note also that Ascot House House has Telarc/Q Base Certification and a Tertiary (highest) level pass with ACC in respect of our Health & Safety programme. |
|
Both in-home and outside activities are encouraged. A number of residents enjoy clubs for the elderly like CMA and Prescott, as well as sports and hobby clubs with activities as wide and varied as croquet and spinning.
