Rannerdale Home and Hospital is a not for profit organization and has a special relationship with the veteran community including those who have served in the military and / or civillian emergency services as well as their families /dependents. We accept as residents men and women who do not have any association with the veteran community or armed services. Our aim is to provide a high standard of residential and hospital care to all men and women who require and are looking for a hiigh level of quality nursing care.

Registered Nurse Yes A Registered Nurse is on duty 24 hrs a day. There is also a Clinical Charge Nurse and a Duty Manager 24hrs a day.
Healthcare Assistants/Caregivers No Our healthcare Assistants are fully trained, the majority hold the National Certificate in Caring for the Older Person, a nationally NZQA qualification. Healthcare Assistants work under the direct supervision of a registered Nurse at all times.
Physiotherapist Yes The physiotherapist attends weekly, with the physiotherapy assistant attending twice weekly.
Occupational Therapist 24 Yes Also Co-ordinates the Activities

Special Features
Rannerdale is proudly associated with providing care for veterans and their families, including spouses and specialise particularly in care of those suffering from post traumatic stress disorder as a consequence of their time in the Services.

Rannerdale can also provide for residents who have no connection with the Services.

We have spacious four and half acres of tendered gardens and lawns with plenty of access and seating for residents and their visitors.

Gardens, gardening, roses, glasshouse and workshop. Happy hour with bar on site. RSA visits, cards, housie, weekly guest speakers, weekly movies on the big screen, concerts, outings, Sky TV, indoor bowls, visiting other homes. Interdenominational church services. Residents computer and email station. Fax machine and Email.
