Physiotherapist Yes We have the services of a partime registered physiotherapist contracted to Matua Lifecare who is supported by two physiotherapy assistants.

Diversional Therapist Yes Two Registered Diversional Therapists deliver a stimulating and varied activity programme working closely with the Allied Health team and nursing staff.
Hairdresser Yes We have our own resident hairdresser (men & ladies)who operates from Matua Lifecare's hairdressing salon Monday to Friday.
Podiatrist Yes We have the services of Matua Foot Clinic Podiatry contracted to Matua Lifecare who visit six weekly. A fee is payable for this service unless prescibed by the doctor (e.g. diabetics)
Dietitian Yes Food Solutions provide dietary services. Our food menus are audited by the registered Dietitian bi annually or as required to ensure that our clients individual dietary requirements are met.
Kaumatua Yes Available by referral to Huria Marae. Huria Kaumatua provide inservice and policy support to Matua Lifecare.

Interests & Activities

Activity programme - our diverse programme includes - Art, Board games, Bowls, Cards, Care and Craft, Church services, , Concerts, Cooking, Craft, Entertainers, Entertainment, Gardening, Happy Hour, Housie, Indoor Games, Jigsaw, Newspaper reading, Shopping, Movie time.

We have excercise classes which are run three times a week by our Physiotherapy Assistants - two classes (Sit & Be Fit and Too Fit to Sit). These classes are very popular and lots of fun.

Shopping trips and van outings are popular in our comfortable, purpose built van with wheelchair hoist.

Inner court yards and raised gardens are pleasurable for those who enjoy pottering in the garden and being outdoors.

Details re Meals All meals are prepared on site seven days a week. Breakfast, hot meal midday, teatime meal, morning and afternoon tea and supper are provided.
Staffing Details Our facility is generously staffed with Registered nurses, Enrolled nurses, and exprienced Care Assistants. We have Registered nurses on 24 hrs a day and 7 days a week.
Associated Complexes Matua Lifecare is not part of a group. Currently we are the largest, privately owned Residential facility in the Bay of Plenty.
Fees Details/Fees Do Not Include Details of our fees and services are available on request. Fees do not include personal toiletries, haircuts, podiatry, personal newspaper, Sky TV and personal telephone.
