Hospital Care
George Manning House - Hospital
|
At George Manning House we offer our residents a home away from home in a residential care environment catering for rest home and hospital care. The complex consists of a 60 bed hospital, 20 bed rest home and 34 independent living units.
George Manning House was opened in February 1972 and by the Manchester Unity Welfare Homes Trust Board, a non-profit making organisation. In 2006 the incumbent Manager, Robyn Garnett, and her partner purchased the operation. Peter and Robyn are experienced rest home operators and have a strong belief in providing high quality care in a cheerful and friendly environment. We place an emphasis on staff education to ensure all staff are competent and experienced in delivering quality care to our residents. The recently refurbished Facility consists of 80 single rooms, all with their own ensuites. We have two sheltered courtyards to which some rooms have direct ranch slider access. Residents are encouraged to personalize their rooms with mementos like a favourite chair, pieces of furniture, pictures, photos and ornaments so they can feel as ‘at home’ as possible. We like residents to enjoy George Manning House as they would their own home. Residents are able to participate in a wide variety of activities within the Facility. Indoor bowls, crafts and housie are popular, as are the weekly outings in our mini buses. A weekly Happy Hour is combined with an entertainment afternoon, and church services are also held on a weekly basis. For those residents who prefer a quieter lifestyle there is a choice of lounges and lovely quiet sunny courtyards with outdoor seating to enjoy and share with their visitors. As we understand the importance of residents' connections with the community, we have an open door policy with regards to visiting, allowing friends and family to stop by at any time convenient to them. Residents are welcome to have their husband/wife join them for meals whenever they like (a small fee may be charged for the meal). Family are encouraged to treat our Facility like their home when visiting their family members, and tea and coffee making facilities are available. Our facility also offers these services: |
