| WHO ARE OUR CLIENTS?
Any person, not requiring hospital admittance, or following early discharge from hospital, or needing nursing care in their home. Such people may be eligible for subsidised services from a variety of agencies. Some will be covering the cost themselves and others may be a combination of payment methods. MEETING US We’re all a bit nervous with strangers so if you don’t know us we would like to meet you at your place first so that we can begin to make a connection with you. We think it’s a polite way of doing things. However if you would prefer to come down and meet us at Wairarapa Care Network then please feel free to do so. If you phone us we can give you the directions. WE PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING SERVICES: DAY CARE Day Care enables time out for families and caregivers while providing you with a interesting and stimulating environment. You will find a mix of men and women of all ages attend Wairarapa Care Network Day Care. This makes our group a good representation of the wider community. A recent visitor asked people for their comments about our network. The response was immediate and it seemed that everyone wanted to have a say including a member on her second visit right through to long time attendees. The following are some of their comments: “Exceptionally, nice hospitable people.” “Everyone is so welcoming.” “I like it here because I always have such a good laugh.” “I feel that we are all treated equally which is really nice. There are no favourites here.” “When I’m here I feel like a contributing person, not like someone on the side watching everyone else do things. I like the fact that I’m not fussed over like I am when I’m at home.” “I’ve met so many new people. It’s a great crowd.” “We’ve all got some sort of a problem here so we’re more understanding of one another.” “We do such a lot of different things, and you get such a good meal. Well, today we had corned beef and pudding --- a good square meal.” “The staff have the clients at heart --- I know this because of the way they treat me.” PERSONAL CARES (private paying) We have skilled and qualified staff available to meet your needs including: showering, bathing dressing and toileting HOME MANAGEMENT (private paying) All household tasks. We have staff available to meet all your needs – i.e. cleaning, cooking etc. We also offer transport to and from Doctor’s or Hospital appointments or for any other requirement such as shopping etc. REGISTERED NURSES (Bureau service, private paying) We have Registered Nurses with current Practising Certificates available for hospital, rest home and palliative care. RESPITE CARE While we provide this care demand is high so the service is closely managed. |
