Carer Support or other Short Stay Yes WE encourage the families of dementia sufferers to take breaks from their caring duties by placing their loved one with us for regular 'holidays' - this service is available by arrangement when we have a vacancy.
Advance bookings taken Yes We are happy to accept an advanced booking for short stays, but this would depend on availbility of a vacant room.
Subsidised service Yes Carer support can be subsidised by the MoH - the invoice form must be presented at the time of booking to confirm number of days available

Special Features
Peaceful and relaxing environment with every room having a garden view. Separate rest home, memory loss and hospital wings. Each room is different as we aim to individualise them to your wishes and achieve a homely atmosphere. Our staff all receive training on all aspects of care including the importance of preserving dignity and individual needs.Our aim is to create a happy pleasant atmosphere, to only employ staff who have a positive friendly attitude and adhere to our mission statement.

Interests & Activities

Secure garden area with aviary and large trees. Recreational therapist each day, indoor games provided, RSA members are regular visitors, we attend Senior Citizens functions, church/religious services are held on site, cooking programme on site, exercises provided, music, newspapers available, quizzes, shopping, members of Alzheimer's Society, breakfast in bed, outings.

What's New

We have recently farewelled our manager Jan Hansen, and Jill Briscoe has now commenced as our facility manager. Jill has over 20 years experience managing aged care facilities, and her most recent employment was at Sunningdale Rest Home and Hospital in Hamilton, where she gained extensive insight into the challenges facing returned service persons and those with dementia.
