"Matua Lifecare will care for, accept and understand that each person who lives in Lavender Court is a unique individual. We will create a calm, safe environment where residents and their families / whanau and friends will feel welcomed and supported.

We believe that by creating a flexible and supportive environment, where activity is appropriate and promotes self esteem, our skilled and understanding staff will enable residents to maintain their existing ability for as long as possible and give them a feeling of self worth.

Special Features
Lavender Court is a specialised residential unit within the Matua Lifecare complex, designed specifically for people with dementia. We aim to provide a home like atmosphere which enables the residents to be themselves and to retain their self respect and dignity.

We would particularly like to know about your relative or friend's life e.g. what they did, their hobbies etc to help us to enable them to continue to live a happy and fulfilled life with us here in Lavender Court.

Interests & Activities

Each resident in Lavender Court has an individual 24 hour activities care plan created by our Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses in consultation with the Care Assistants and relatives.

The daily activity programme is compiled by the Diversional and Occupational Therapists.

Activities include - exercises, , gardening, sing-a-longs, sweeping floors, hanging out the washing, folding washing, relaxation excercises,walking group, chime therapy, cooking / baking, household tasks, church service, individual hobbies, collarge work, lawn mowing, mens activities. Families are encouraged to visit with their pets and small children.

Details re Meals All meals are prepared on site seven days a week. Breakfast, hot meal midday, teatime meal, morning and afternoon tea and supper are provided.
Staffing Details Our facility is generously staffed with Registered nurses, Enrolled nurses, and exprienced Care Assistants. We have Registered nurses on 24 hrs aday and 7 days a week. All staff in the dementia unit have had training in dementia care.
Associated Complexes Matua Lifecare is not part of a group. Currently we are the largest, privately owned Residential facility in the Bay of Plenty.
Fees Details/Fees Do Not Include Details of our fees and services are available on request. Fees do not include personal toiletries, haircuts, podiatry, personal newspaper, Sky TV and personal telephone.
