The Residents of Hetherington House have the right to live in a warm friendly and home like environment where caring relationships are fostered between relatives and their friends, where dignity, self worth and independence are honoured, individual rights and responsibilities fostered and there is an avoidance of institutional regimes. The staff provide an effective team, acknowledging the interdependence of shared skills, knowledge and experiences, the support and care fellow caregivers give to each other and the respect they convey for the Residents in response to their needs by both attitude and by action. | We have a contract for day/respite care within the home 7 days a week, clients join our residents in activities and outings.
We have Tai chi twice a week and regular exercise programmes set down by the physiotheraqpist. All residents have opportunity to try our spa pool which has a hoist . We now have a new 6 bed secure dementia unit |

Activity programme - Hetherington House employs 1 Diversional Therapist who with volunteers and assistants organises and assists with games, outings and entertainment. Our Therapist also assist with tasks such as personal letter writing if required.
