Dementia Care (Secure environment)
Hayman Rest Home and Hospital, Manukau - Te Rangi Marie and Elm Cottage
|
We have two specialist units which while completely separate, allow our residents freedom within a secure environment. We are sensitive to the special needs of those with dementia. Elm Cottage caters for 15 residents, and currently this male unit supports a wide range of ethnic groups. While men and women's living spaces are separate there is often social interaction, however the increased privacy around our single rooms helps our residents to enjoy thier day - thier way.
Te Rangi Marie (The Place of Peace) is our larger unit, with a total of 19 women residents. This unit has access to two lovely gardens. Both units are supported by dedicated activities staff, trained specifically in the needs of people with dementia. Our physiotherapist, qualified Registered Nurses and care givers are all passionate about improving the lives of our residents with dementia. Elm Cottage and Te Rangi Marie currently have vacancies and we welcome families to visit to see if we are the right place for you. Our purpose-built, modern home offers a warm, lively and caring environment, with the added reassurance of skilled, friendly, dedicated staff. We have lovely quiet grounds set in a tranquil garden area. Our staff reflect the cultural diversity of our residents, with a wide range of languages spoken. We're right in the heart of Manukau City close to shops, banks, medical centres, library, post office and public transport. Hayman is part of the Bupa group of rest homes, hospitals, retirement villages and personal medical alarms. We are a private company, and because we have no shareholders, we can invest what we earn to make improvements that help us provide better care. As part of the global Bupa group, we are able to provide superior clinical support, while focusing on helping each of our residents get the most out of each day. Bupa is one of New Zealand’s leading aged care providers. To find out more, please visit the Bupa link below. Our facility also offers these services: |
