Registered Nurse 96 Yes Corrie Bronkhorst(Facility manager) is on site from 7h00 and Linda White(Clinical Nurse manager) from 08h00. Both work Monday - Friday. Susan Buchanan(Nurse educator) works Monday and Tuesday. Susan is dedicated to education and some clinical matters.
Healthcare Assistants/Caregivers 25 Yes All caregivers must complete the ACE - Dementia program and work in the Resthome and Dementia units to provide contunuity of care. Care givers are equipt to deal with challenging situations as they arise. Each shift has a dedicated teamleader.
Physiotherapist No Eastcare is able to assist residents that requires Physio input when the family is not able to.
Occupational Therapist No Eastcare works closely with the MHSOP to ensure that residents remain as independant as possible and can refer residents as and when needed.
Own Social Worker No Eastcare is able to contact the social worker that has been appointed to residents. We are also able to refer residents to the social work team.
Activities Co-ordinator 60 Yes The activities team work from Monday - Friday between 09h00 and 18h00. The program facilitates group activities and also one-one activities. They strive to accomodate the needs of each individual resident within our home and in the community.
Hairdresser Yes Visits every Monday. She charges very reasonable prices for our residents.
Podiatrist Yes Visits every 6 weeks and more regurlarly as needed
Dietitian Yes Menu's are reviewed annually by a dietician, and residents has input in the menu. Special food needs are catered for.
Kaumatua Negotiable Kaumatua's are welcome to visit residents and participate in family and health review meetings.
Chaplain/Spiritual Advisor Yes Catholic priests and Anglican ministers visit on a regular basis and we encourage residents to continue their religious practise.
