Phone Access In Own Room Yes Residents can choose to have their own telephone line - just like at home. They are responsible for the monthly line rental and call costs. There could also be a set up charge.
Resident can adjust heating in own room Yes Although there is underfloor heating some residents choose to have a heater in their room. These need to be checked before being used.

Lounges/seating areas Yes Rendell on Reed has numerous lounge areas. Some have TVs and others don't. We also have a beautiful chapel full of books that Residents can read at their leisure. We also have a number of outside seating areas to enjoy the sun.
Outings Yes We have an 11 seater van that goes out 2x a week. We also have special outings for lunches, or afternoon teas. We have gone to movies, dances and to concerts. We will try to get the residents out to places they show an interest in going to.
Rural Setting No We have views of the sea and the hills.
Smoking Permitted Yes Residents have the right to smoke. Not many do and if one does smoke they can only do this outside and for as long as they are safe.

Special Features
Rendell on Reed is a 55 bed rest home/hospital that is made up of 2 "wings". Although we are next to the Catholic Church we are an interdenominational home.
Original Wing was built in the early 1900's and was used as a convent. It still has original features like stained glass windows and ornate ceilings.
The Classic Wing was built in 1999 and was purpose built. All rooms on Classic have ensuite facilities.
We have views of the sea from a number of vantage points and the home is bright, light and spacious.

Details re Meals Our meals are delicious! All food is prepared in our own kitchen on the premises. We can cater for different dietary needs such as diabetics and vegetarians. We also provide meals for the community via Meals on Wheels catering.
Staffing Details We have six full time Registered Nurses, leading a team of dedicated Care staff. Training Care Staff to deliver excellent care is an important focus for Rendell on Reed.
Associated Complexes We are right next to the Catholic Church but we are inter-dominational
Fees Details/Fees Do Not Include Full fees and what the fees do not include can be accessed by ringing Rendell on Reed and asking for a pack to be sent out. Due to the government changing the cap for Subsidy payment it is difficult to give this information in this forum.
