| Here at Northanjer Resthome we believe that the elderly are valued members of our society. We offer a relaxed homely atmosphere for 15 residents. This enables us to deliver personal and individualised care with flexibility and freedom. Each resident entrusted to our care has a right to individual care and commitment, concern and compassion and to be nurtured and protected in their physical, mental and spiritual states.
We encourage residents to continue with any club or hobby involvement they may have had prior to entering the rest home. We are located on the main highway, enabling easy access for visitors, or trips to town , appointments etc. . . Visitors welcome any time. Lovely gardens to walk in and enjoy, with an aviary. Staff undergo regular education and training to ensure changing needs of residents are met. VISION STATEMENT We believe that we have duty to provide a nurturing, supportive and homelike environment with commitment to the frail elderly where we promote independence and a sense of self-determination, and where dependency exists, provide support to meet the varied needs of our clientele. We strive to maintain a family atmosphere in a homelike environment where quality, comfort and care go hand in hand. |

The following illustrates some of the interests and activities found at Northanjer Rest Home: Activity programme, Advocate, Age Concern, Alzheimer's Society, Arthritis society, Big print books, Blind Foundation, Board games, Bowls, Breakfast in bed, Cards, Care and Craft, Children , Cooking, Craft, Entertainers, Entertainment, Exercises, Fax, Flower arranging, Games, Garden, Gardening, Happy Hour (Fridays at 4pm - drinks, chips and music - served in own room or lounge), Indoor Games, Jigsaw, Library, Log fire (very popular with a lot of residents - a wonderful place to relax and settle for the night if you are a poor sleeper), Meal choices, Men (we have a good proportion of men to women), Minibus, Minigolf, Outings, Parties (our Christmas party is a real occasion and residents do as much of the preparation as possible - they make/bake/ice the Christmas cake, create the cards etc), Pianist, Quizzes, Reading, Recreation, Religious services, Roses (residents may pick their own blooms), RSA, Senior Citizens, Service women, Servicemen, Shopping (we will take individual residents out for shopping trips, especially those who do not have family), Sing-a-longs, Singing, Sky TV (at own expense), Stroke Group, Videos, Views (aviary, fish pond and interesting street-scape from comfortable warm sunroom), Visitors (are welcome at any time and are welcome to have a cup of tea). |
