Special Features
Maniototo Health Services is a small 7 bed hospital level elderly care facility housed in a separate wing to the medical and maternity wards. The elderly care is delivered from a beautifully refurbished spacious facility with wide open spaces, fresh air and views of spectacular mountain scenery.

The facility is fully compliant with all fire safety regulations including sprinklers, automatic fire alarms, smoke alarms and an approved fire evacuation plan which is reviewed annually by the Fire Service.

A high patient/staffing level is maintained and registered nurses are involved in the care and observation of all residents at all times.

The facility is part of a larger service including a medical centre and GP practice, a small rural medical acute hospital and an accident and emergency stabilization service.A birthing centre is also in the facility.

Community support for the health services and visiting of the residents is one the outstanding features that contribute to the care of the elderly in a rural setting.

Maniototo Health Service is funded by the District Health Board to provide broad based medical care, so whilst Certification has been checked our specialised status means that different criteria apply.
